We are very proud to announce that we have successfully completed the acquisition of Go-Network Servers, a leading game and voice server hosting provider!  Go-Network Servers has been providing high quality services to its clients for several years now and its stellar reputation speaks for itself! GNS, which specializes in Minecraft hosting, is an approved Minecraft Server provider as well as an official Minecraft MCMA Server provider! All servers also come with a free web hosting account.

The Komen Race for the Cure is a program in order to raise money for breast cancer. Last year, the organization raised $5.4 million! So far this year, Komen has awarded $4.8 million in grants.

The mission of The WTFC is to raise funds that will aid research to ultimately find the cure for breast cancer. The WTFC donates 100% of the proceeds to breast cancer researchers. Recent donations have been made to the doctors at Sloan Kettering, John Hopkins, The City of Hope, and The Feinstein Institute to Research.

WHMCS 4.5.2 Available for XeHost Resellers

WHMCS has just announced the release of Version 4.5.2. While this release does not come with tons of new features, it does patch up some serious exploits discovered in previous versions and is thus a highly recommended upgrade for all clients. However, in addition to the security updates, this upgrade does contain the following updates:

  • 2CheckOut Module: Added options to skip waiting for fraud check before applying payment, and disable recurring subscriptions offering. Also updated callback handling of foreign currency transactions.
  • Added rounded borders CSS compatability for additional browsers
  • Ajax Cart Template Updates: Added supprt back for product selection skipping, removed checkout button from sidebar, re-added previous ease-in floating div for chrome/opera compatability, + added instructional note to product domain step to advise of the need to pick a domain before item is added to the cart
  • Modern & Slider Templates: Updated live product total summary to include taxes, and modified custom fields & security questions to span multiple columns in checkout step to avoid width display issues, also fixed addons page that wasn’t displaying no addons available warning properly
  • Fixed Ban IP link on Order Details page that was giving a token error when clicked
  • Updated Batch PDF Export tool to support new custom fields, transactions, balance & invoice item grouping functionality
  • Fixed email signature which was being entity encoded and not allowing HTML
  • Fixed cron error that was causing failure from duplicate file includes

  • Language FIle Updates: Updated translations for Dutch, French & Spanish client side, + a new Czech translation for the admin area (Thanks to users who contributed their translations)

All XeHost Reseller clients can access the files for WHMCS Version 4.5.2 by logging in to the client panel at http://clients.xehost.net and clicking “My Products/Services” and then on the “Details” button next to their Reseller Hosting Plan – the download will be available under the “Files” section. Alternatively, clients who installed their WHMCS via Softaculous can easily upgrade it within their Softaculous panel.

WordPress Secret: Save FTP Information for Easy Upgrades

WordPress, one of the most popoular blog scripts available today, is constantly being updated by its developers to both add more features and to make the script more secure. As we do with most scripts, we highly recommend our customers upgrade their WordPress blogs immediately as soon as new versions are released.

We freqently receive support tickets from clients inquiring as to whether it would be possible for them to save their FTP login information in WordPress so that all it is easy to upgrade their script when a new version comes out. Guess what – there is a way to do this!

It’s nothing complicated, all you need to do is locate your wp-config.php file which is located within the first directory of your wordpress installation. For example if your whole website runs off WordPress your wp-config.php file will be located within the public_html folder. If you have set up your wordpress installation within a sub directory such as blog so you URL is www.mywebsite/blog/ then the wp-config.php will be within the first level of that directory. Once you’ve located the wp-config.php file, open it up in some form of text editor. You can use the file manager in your cPanel control panel or your FTP software – both will work fine!

Now once you’ve got your wp-config.php file open, scroll down to the bottom of the wp-config.php file until you see ?> This represents the closing tag of a PHP script. We are going to be adding a couple of lines just before the closing tag. Make sure it’s before and not after the closing tag otherwise it won’t work. Add the following just before the end PHP tag:

You will need to change the example data to your settings. By default, your FTP hostname is simply “ftp.yourdomain.tld”. For the username and password, you can use your cPanel login information. Alternatively, you can create a new FTP account to use in the “FTP Accounts” section of your control panel. Please note that if you enter in invalid FTP login credentials, this will not work.

Save your changes to your wp-config.php file and thats it! You will now be able to easily upgrade your WordPress with the click of a button!

Free WHMCS Upgrade for XeHost Reseller Clients

Earlier today, WHMCS launched the newest version of their leading billing and client management software, WHMCS Version 4.3.1. Some upgrades and new features include the following:

New Features & Enhancements

New Ajax Order Form – fully customisable, open-source, ajax based order process with live order summary

Per Billing Cycle Invoice Settings – Now you can specify for different billing cycles to generate at different times, for example your monthly items could generate 14 days in advance while annual items could generate 30 days in advance

Twitter Integration – a client side integration with twitter to display the latest tweets from your company twitter account along with a follow icon pointing to your twitter page

Product Addons – Weighting ability to customise display order of addons, added the ability to easily transfer an addon from one of the clients products to another, and improved adding process to make pricing retrieval more intuitive

Suspension Reasons – now when performing a manual suspend you can specify a reason for that suspension to be displayed in the admin area, client area, and suspension notification email – automated suspensions default to non-payment

Live Ticket Status Updates – WHMCS will now monitor in the background and notify you if any other admins have started replying to a ticket if you start replying, and also on submission if the status has changed since you opened it to indicate another admin has already dealt with it

Expanded Downloads Features – Added the ability for downloads to be associated to addons so that addons can provide access to additional downloads automatically when purchased like with products

Promotions Recurring Limits – Coupons can now be set to recur for a set number of cycles, allowing offers such as “Get your first 3 months at half price” for example

Customisable Admin Email Templates – You can now customise the New Order, Support Ticket Response, Automatic Setup Failure, Domain Renewal Failure and Service Unsuspension admin email notifications like existing email templates

Client Default Payment Method – the admin profile page now allows an admin user to change the payment method of all a clients products, services & open invoices in one quick action

Config Options Monthly Breakdown – updated the order process product configuration step to also apply monthly breakdown pricing to configurable options if enabled

Checkout Credit Card Payment – if a credit card based payment gateway is chosen during checkout, in a more streamlined process the client is now asked to enter their card details as part of checkout rather than following checkout being completed

Multiple Free Subdomain Choices – ability to specific more than 1 subdomain a client can choose from as an alternative to domain registration at Products Signup

Read-only/Locked Client Profile Fields – ability to choose which fields from the main profile name, email, address fields are editable

Affiliate Withdrawal Enhancements – can now automatically create a transaction out or credit entry for the client direct from the admin affiliate withdrawal screen

cPanel Reseller Upgrades – Added support for automated reseller disk/bandwidth package upgrades

Release Domain Support – added support for registrar modules to contain a release function to automate transfer out of domains so Nominet module supports IPSTAG changes from within WHMCS – can be admin only or clients can also be given access to perform it
